Marks Locker has received a total of 98 awards since 1985 from the State Convention.
Marks Locker owners receive awards from Iowa Meat Processors Association
The 71st Annual Convention & Trade Show of the Iowa Meat Processors Association was held at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center and the ISU Meat Laboratory in Ames, on February 16-18, 2007. Processors from 45 plants & vendors in 41 booths were in attendance for the training sessions and the Trade Show.
The conference participants attended seminars on a variety of processing techniques used on beef, pork, and poultry at the ISU Meat Lab under the direction of Meat Extension Specialist, Dr. Joe Cordray, and the other staff members from Iowa State University.
Dr. Cordray was in charge of the Iowa Cured Meats Competition held on Saturday. There were more than 340 entries of processed meats in twenty classes of the competition. The entries were judged by judges from Iowa State University.
Tom and Lisa Taylor, owners of Marks Locker in Rowley received the following awards:
Champion: Speciality Ham
Reserve Champion: Bacon
Champion: Smoked Turkey
Reserve Grand Champion: Frankfurters/Wieners

Ruby Marks is 2007 IMPA Achievement Award Recipient
The Iowa Meat Processors Association was pleased to present the 2007 Achievement Award to Ruby Marks of Marks Locker in Rowley. The Achievement Award is the highest honor that the IMPA gives. The award was presented to Ruby by Dr. Joe Cordray and the 2004 recipients, Bill & Dee Kirkpatrick, at the 71st Annual IMPA Convention held in Ames.
Ruby has been very active in IMPA, especially sharing her musical talents at the conventions that are held each year.
The membership wished Ruby many years of good health & happiness and salutes her as the 2007 IMPA Achievement Award Recipient.
